Challenger Soccer Program
Everyone Plays, Everyone Wins, Come and Join the Fun
The Challenger Soccer Program is a co-ed recreation program that enables children with physical and/or developmental disabilities to enjoy the benefits of team soccer participation in an adapted environment structured to fit their abilities.
Games will be played at Trinity Fields off Route 9 in Marmora, NJ. The soccer games will be held Sundays from September 23, 2012 to November 4, 2012 (except 10/7/12) from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. Dates and times may vary if needed. Volunteers are asked to be at fields 30 minutes before game time.

COME AND JOIN THE FUN
The Program was founded by Daryl DiTroia in the fall of 2009. With the help of Martha Septynski from Cape May County Special Services and various area teachers for children with disabilities, an adapted soccer program for children with special-needs was developed. The program consists of a series of lead-up skill building activities geared to an adapted small-sided game.
The program uses a Buddy system. Each of the Challenger players will have a Buddy that will shadow him/her and will help with encouragement and assistance when needed. Buddy volunteers are typically high school students, many of them area soccer players.
Cape Express is happy to be involved by encouraging our players to be Buddies and by providing space on our website to help with program awareness.
For additional information for both players and volunteers, email Daryl DiTroia or call (609) 425-3919.
